fire! fundraiser! art!

this is a call for artwork donations
that will be auctioned off (silent auction) at a fundraising event for local artists (peers! friends!) carrie walker and sonja hebert
who lost their studio (and all contents within) in the eff'd up christmas day fire at broadway & kingsway.
i know, it makes us all want to throw up.

and, in the meantime...we need artwork! to auction! we need your donations!
all proceeds will be going to help carrie and sonja get set up with a new studio, supplies and such. fresh new start.

artwork drop-off's can be made starting this friday (jan 8) at dina and joelle's shop "jewellerbau" at 2408 main street between 11am - 5pm.
(if need be, alternate drop-off times can be arranged. give them a call at 778.316.7287 or 604.872.7759).

if your piece is 2D and unframed, please put it between cardboard (or something else hard), for protection. anything 3D please bring it in some sort of box. ALSO, include your name/information and your preferred starting bid price.

** it'd be great if we could get all works dropped off by jan 23 if at all possible. give it a go! **

also....if you're not an artist, or you just don't want to donate a piece of work...
there are other ways that you can contribute to the cause if you'd like:

- we're also looking for donations of gift certificates, services....things...that can be used as raffle prizes!
these donations can also be dropped off at jewellerbau (see details above).

- volunteer! we will need a few volunteers to help out with organizing (possibly shuttling) the artworks to the event venue, wrapping them up for folks to take away on the evening of the event, pizza sales (incendio's is donating pizza!), clean-up
....you know, that sort of thing. so if you're interested in lending a hand, let us know!
